Who We Are
Christian Loera opened Gallery Loera as a natural extension of his love of the arts.
Christian first became acquainted with art as a young man growing up in East Los Angeles. Where conformists looked at urban art with disdain or as unsightly graffiti, Christian likened this form of expression to young people simply expressing themselves in a manner to the community and environment in which they lived in. As a First Generation American, Christian’s parents instilled in him a love of art by taking him to the local museums for family outings. Christian explains, “Museums were free to the public, and my parents were poor.” Later when the opportunity presented itself, Christian took it upon himself to further develop his passion of art by visiting museums throughout the world on his quest for a greater understanding and awareness of the masters. Christian reveals, “I went to the finest museums in the world in order to examine the finest paintings from the greatest artists.”
As a nonconformist, Christian finds solidarity with other nonconformists who understand his quest and desire to express himself by acquiring art from all mediums and genres. Whether classical or urban, Gallery Loera showcases these artists so that others can enjoy them.
We invite you to explore Gallery Loera and should one of the artists affect you the way Christian has been affected by them, please feel free to reach out to him to begin a journey together.
